Strong in the belief that language and communication are among humanity’s most valuable tools, Sarah endeavors to provoke thought and promote empowerment in all of her work. Her performances, written works and workshops are designed to prompt inquiry, challenge perceptions and shine a light on the value of listening to and attempting to comprehend new and unfamiliar perspectives. Sarah’s work is highly regarded for its blend of astute observation, honesty, wit and Seuss-inspired sprinklings of rhyme and rhythm. An Australian Poetry Slam Finalist in 2022 and NSW Champion the same year, expect an abundance of alliteration, some serious silliness and the occasional oxymoron.
Sarah will be kicking-off the Festival with Thomas Forest Bailey, Moran Weisel, and musician Rob van der Elst, at the Friday Night Feature. But there’s no need to wait! You can join Sarah even earlier, at her “Fury as a Force for Good” workshop on Friday afternoon (11th). AND Sarah will also perform during guest poet sessions on Saturday afternoon (12th) and Sunday afternoon (13th).
