Moran Wiesel is a performance poet, storyteller, and eco-somatic therapist. Moran’s works explore our intimate entanglement with the earth’s soul, inviting audiences on a wonder-filled journey of profound connection. Their performances sparkle with the magical places where trees sing, mountains unfurl their dragon wings, and moss whispers words of wisdom.
Moran has performed in forests, caves, high schools, Dark Mofo, the Cygnet Folk Festival, and the Tasmanian Storytelling Festival. They have been an Australian Poetry Slam National Finalist, First Prize recipient of the Andrew Hardy Youth Poetry Award, winner of the Huon Valley Storytelling Cup, and featured artist at the Tasmanian Storytelling Festival. Their debut poetry collection is forthcoming in 2024.
Moran will be kicking-off the Festival with Thomas Forest Bailey, Sarah Lock, and musician Rob van der Elst, at the Friday Night Feature. If you miss that, or can’t get enough, there will be more of Moran during the guest poet session on Sunday afternoon (13th).
